The only place I had to put that many of them was on my folding table which is where the plants are for the winter. Also that Icing that comes in the can (kinda like a can of cheeze whiz..) is a pain int he arse to use for decorating mini cupcakes. Might work ok for a cake though. Next time I will take the time to make piping bags and just hand color the icing and such. It was fun anyways.
Last Weekend I had finished the work on my Clay self portrait bust. (note weekend before last) Here is a straight on snapshot of it.
Over this past week and weekend I have been allowing it to dry and harden up a bit and checking on it every day. It is kept wrapped in plastic so that it can not dry out to fast. It has a foam armature supporting the wet clay. Not my idea was the Profs requirement and the first time he has had a class do it. Well NO one is having any luck with this, neither is the prof. as he built a self portrait also over foam.So today was the day to remove the foam. I had to precariously balance my sculpture over the work table and the sculpture stand so that I could reach underneath it and dig out the foam. Unfortunately I could not get to the foam in the head area.... So just like everyone else I had to cut open my head to remove the foam there.
Also, Fri. had been the Knit In at Sarah Jane's. So after checking on my above bust and making sure it wasn't cracking, and a short visit to the gallery opening I went to the Knit In. Where upon Libraryhooker made me an awesome puff hat!
It also has the ability to be a mushroom hat. Hmmm Renaissance Portrait here I come.

gah... my fingers hurt from digging out all that foam.
Tomorrow is metals, speaking of which, the acid refuses to take on the food safe solder of my salt and pepper shakers. So now I have to Remove ALL the black. bleh. I'm starting to hate steal wool, splinters from it hurt like hell.
I still am trying to finish knitting Pu's scarf. Its more than half way done at least. I jsut can't keep up with school work and the knitting since I'm not able to knit in my classes this time around. Kinda hard to do if you hands are covered in clay and such.
Its getting there though. Also its hard to knit if your hands are sore from metalsmithing. GAH I can't win can I? O well I keep knitting rows here and there.
The new assignment in Scuplture is a Chair. I will post it later after it is started. Currently I'm working on the schematics and such.
